WHAT a night of racing last night! Two race nights in a row now with action right down to the checkered flag. The United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series was on hand and ran one heck of a race also for the 1st Annual GA/FL Challenge with Austin Kirkpatrick taking the fast time qualifier and the feature win. Congrats to local winners; Cecil Eunice limited sportsman,Chris Lovett super street, Paul Albritton hobby stock, Garrett Lloyd emod, Tony Laporta 440 and Tami Clark powder puff.

MAY 24th Golden Isles Speedway

Golden Isles Speedway will run its' regular show of Limited Sportsman, E-Mod, Super Street, Hobby Stock, 440 and Powder Puff on Saturday May 24th.   Grandstand admission is only $8.00 per adult or $15.00 per couple. Pit admission is $25.00 for adults. Children under the age of twelve (12) will be admitted to both the grandstands and the pit area for FREE. The grandstands will open at 3:00 p.m., while hot laps will start at 5:30 p.m. and racing will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Updated points are listed after May 10th's double points features.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will kick off the 2014 season at Golden Isles Speedway on February 6th, 7th and 8th in Brunswick, GA for the “Super Bowl of Racing”.  The 2014 edition of the “Super Bowl of Racing”, sanctioned by the LOLMDS, will consist of three full nights of racing at GIS. Thursday night, February 6th the series will run a $5,000 to win and $500 to start non-points feature event. Then on Friday night February 7th the LOLMDS will run a $10,000 to win and $800 to start feature event followed by another $10,000 to win, $800 to start feature event on Saturday February 8th. Both Friday night and Saturday night’s events will be the first point’s events of the 2014 season.
In addition to three full nights of racing action at Golden Isles Speedway, Lucas Oil Production Studios and TV their cameras will be on hand to tape both Friday night and Saturday night’s events for broadcast on the MAVTV American Real Network. The only previous visit by the LOLMDS to the racy South Georgia facility came in 2008, when Earl Pearson Jr of Jacksonville, FL made a last lap pass in dramatic fashion to win the event in front of the Lucas Oil TV cameras. The previous GIS event is still considered one of the best TV races of all time on the series.

The Larry Bailey Memorial 

Saturday October 12, 2013 Albany Motor Speedway will present the Larry Bailey Memorial End of The Points Season Championship Race. This will be an exciting event with increased purses and double points in all classes. The Albany racing community lost one of our true racing treasures this past July when Mr. Larry Bailey was taken from us due to a tragic accident. With this race we pay tribute to one great man and his racing legacy. We miss you Mr. Larry.

This show would have Mr. Larry excited for sure:

For kids 12 and under The Nothing Runs Like A Deere Great Bicycle give away sponsored by Lasseter Equipment Group will give away two John Deere bikes. Saturday night September 14, 2013 Albany Motor Speedway will present another action packed night of racing. This event will be highlighted by the Hobby class racing 20 laps for $1000 to win. The hobby field will be set by one lap qualifying and no heat races. A prize of $100 will go to the fastest qualifier who will pull a ticket from the grand stand ticket stubs for a fan to win $100 as well. There will also be regular racing in Late Model, Limited, Enduro and Mini Stock. Fans keep up with your ticket stub for drawings that award prizes and kids 12 and under be sure to grab a free ticket for the John Deere Bicycle we will give away at intermission. Thanks to all the racers and fans for the great turnout at our Labor Day event this past Saturday night. Our fans and racers are absolutely the best. Come join us this Saturday night for another great night of racing.

Albany Motor Speedway, Labor Day Weekend event set for August 30th and 31st

Albany Motor Speedway is thrilled to announce the schedule for the big Labor Day Weekend event set for August 30th and 31st. The event will kick off on Friday night with heat races in Mini Stock, Enduro, Hobby Stock and Limited. The heats will be lined up by drawing for your position, then you will race for 8 laps. The way you finish will set the field for the feature event Saturday night. The heat races will pay the purse see web page for purse amounts, be a minimum of 10 cars to have 2 heats. The OUTLAW Open Wheel Modifieds will make their second appearance at AMS and will time trial for a 20 lap feature paying $1000 to win and $100 dollars to start capping off the Friday night portion of the weekend. All Late Models are welcome to come for a few rounds of practice Friday night.  

Saturday night the National Late Model Series will be here for the $3000 to win event. We will time trial the late models and have a last chance race if needed to set the field. We will put on our Spectacular Fireworks Display soon after dark. This is the show we scheduled for the 4th of July weekend that was rained out so it is a huge Fireworks Show. The Limited class will run a 20 lap feature paying $800 to win, Hobby Stocks 15 laps $450, Enduro 15 laps $400, Mini Stock 15 Laps $300. Saturday night is a double point’s race in all classes except Late Model. Grandstand fans hold your ticket stubs for prizes. Kids 12 and under be sure to get your ticket for the “Nothing Runs like a Deere” John Deere Bike giveaway sponsored by Lasseter Equipment. Albany Motor Speedway invites you to come feel and see the dirt track racing excitement this Labor Day Weekend.      

Special Announcement: Albany Motor Speedway has added a special 8 lap winner take all $500 to win limited race to this Friday night’s schedule. This race will have our top 4 in points locked in. The rest of the field will be taken from the top two in each heat race not already locked in for a total of 8 cars. The eight drivers will draw for their starting position in front of the grandstands. We will draw a ticket for a fan who will win $100 and also after the winner take all race will pick their favorite driver of the race from second thru eighth who will also be awarded $100. This will be an exciting addition to our Friday night event so come on out to Albany Motor Speedway.
